Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and grew up in a mixed-ethnic, multiracial family. Jacqueline's father Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. There are two brothers younger than her and one older sister. In the 80s, her parents emigrated to Bahrain because of civil war on Sri Lanka. In the end, she was both born and raised in the country. After completing the schooling in Bahrain she was awarded the Scholarship at University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. She went to the Berlitz school of languages, which helped her improve on French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was crown in March 2006; she was also a part of Miss Universe 2006 Following her win of the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she entered the world of television and was the host of a show on Sri Lanka's business known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the mother of former badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. While still a teenager, Padukone played in many national badminton tournaments. However, she resigned from playing when she made the decision to pursue a career as a professional model. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. She is Mangalorean in her origins. Padukone is located in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State, India is where her ancestry is derived from. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend before retiring in the late 1980s. The mother of her daughter, a travel agency, also hails from the village.
